They made the decision to produce bookmark size cards that could be distributed to area libraries, chambers of commerce, churches and hospitals. Synopsis: This group's goal was to designate a literacy program for the H.C. Probation Dept. To increase the literacy levels of selected probationers.  They not only provided a mechanism for identifying those most in need of literacy instruction, but also a plan and a process to deliver that instruction to selected probationers.  Their goal was to decrease recidivism in our courts and jails.
