Program Overview: Each class session will be held at a different location throughout the county and students within the program are responsible for traveling to the location that is selected. All locations will be within Hendricks County. An ideal class day would be held at various non-profit organizations around the county starting with a leadership focused training, including activities and speakers on a variety of topics. The afternoon will feature a philanthropic project, set up and coordinated by the staff of Leadership Hendricks County, with input from the YEP students. While at the non-profit organization we will learn about their mission, funding and the services they provide.
In the past, YEP students have been required to complete one or more outside activities within their school group. While a school group project is no longer a requirement for our program, we still encourage the groups to utilize the skills they learn with projects within their communities.
Applicants: Juniors and Seniors from Hendricks County Public schools and Home Educated students may apply for admission into the YEP Program. Deadline for application is April 30, 2012.
